The French Open, 2021
.. its time for the Paris Grand Slam ! ... some seed numbers ;

3 - Nadal - A seeding quirk has placed Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic all in the top half of the draw
5 - Tsitsipas - A top clay player, and in the bottom half will avoid the above big three
15 - Ruud - A new Norwegian star who has made recent Semi finals in Monte Carlo and Madrid
18 - Sinner - highly rated Italian teenager makes his first seeding at a Slam

... and the women ;

3 - Sabalenka - has the raw strength and power to beat anyone on her day
8 - Swiatek - won it last year at just 19, great clay player
9 - Pliskova - on top form until a humiliation at the recent Italian final
24 - Gauff - won the warm - up Parma tournament last week
.

Nadal has been playing the French Open for 15 years
Played 102 matches and won 100 including 13 finals and they have just put a statue up of him at Roland Garros

SO THE FRENCH HAVE SEEDED HIM 3 (THREE)

Zverev through again after being two sets down. Is it possible players are doing favours ‘with mates’ in In Play betting. Seen a number of games of tennis recently where the fav is playing so poorly, but then suddenly a flick is switched and they win from there.

Straight sets win for 39yo Roger FEDERER
Is 8th seed and has CILIC in round 2 which is probably tougher than you'd like.

Re: The French Open, 2021
Surprised Federer even played here. Think has missed the previous 2 years and suspect he might have just wanted to play one last time there before he retires at the end of the year after a final Wimbledon & US Open. The only reason to hang on into 2022 would be to have a final lap of honour at the Grand Slams with fans. At age 40.
Would have been due to play Djokovic in the quarter final so now looks like a Djokovic v Nadal semi final.
The other 'easy' side of the draw has Tsitsipas v Medvedev in the quarter final so you'd expect the winner of that will play in the final.
